    Student Loan Assistance Center President
Meets with Members of Congress on Capitol Hill
Norco, CA.   December 20, 2016 – Adam Owens, President and Founder of the Student Loan Assistance Center (SLAC) headquartered in Norco, CA, met with senior Members of Congress earlier this month on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to discuss the Federal student loan market.

Meeting with senior Members of the U.S. House of Representatives serving on the Appropriations Committee; the Education and the Workforce Committee; and the Financial Services Committee, Mr. Owens discussed the prospects for a new public/private partnership for the Federal student loan program in the 115th Congress which convenes on January 3, 2017.

“We met with our Congressman Ken Calvert, (CA- 42nd District) as well as a number of his colleagues, and discussed working to create a student loan program that will address the needs of Americans attempting to finance a college education as well as the 44.2 million Americans who have already borrowed $1.26 trillion and are struggling to repay their loans.  With Federal student loan default rates at 11.3% and delinquencies at 11.1%, an exploding Federal budget deficit and Federal borrowing levels, something needs to be done for the American taxpayer as well as those Americans trying to pursue the dream of a college education.

Over the last three years, SLAC has done its’ part by working with over 21,000 student loan borrowers in California, as well as nationally, to successfully lower their monthly student loan payments and minimize their risks of delinquency and default.”

About Student Loan Assistance Center:  Founded in 2013 in Norco, CA, SLAC employs 90 people.  It is currently a Federal student loan processing company that assists clients in preparing and filing applications for the Federal Student Loan Consolidation program to secure the best Federal repayment program that fits their financial needs.

In 2017, SLAC plans to expand its business and offer a credit based Private Student Loan Program financing students planning to attend college, and a Private Student Loan Refinancing Program for borrowers with high interest rate Federal and Private student loans that have already attended college and are in repayment.
