Periodically, the Government and Transportation committee sponsors a luncheon featuring keynote speakers who discuss critical topics such as zoning, transportation, crime, redevelopment, infrastructure and immigration. Guests are also given updates on current issues within the city, county and state. Last year's speakers included Riverside County District Attorney Rod Pacheco, Riverside County Transportation Commission Executive Director Anne Mayer, State Controller John Chiang, and State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. The Government and Transportation committee meets as needed throughout the year.
